Brazil stocks higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 1.57%

Oil And Gold Forecast, News and Analysis:

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Real Estate, Consumption and Public Utilities sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 1.57%.

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Magazine Luiza SA (BVMF:MGLU3), which rose 11.40% or 1.01 points to trade at 9.87 at the close. Meanwhile, Cogna Educacao SA (BVMF:COGN3) added 10.29% or 0.14 points to end at 1.50 and Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF:CVCB3) was up 9.79% or 0.19 points to 2.13 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4), which fell 4.33% or 0.23 points to trade at 5.08 at the close. Hypera SA (BVMF:HYPE3) declined 2.68% or 0.61 points to end at 22.11 and Braskem SA (BVMF:BRKM5) was down 0.87% or 0.15 points to 17.09.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 516 to 459 and 50 ended unchanged.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 4.40% to 35.15.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.07% or 1.80 to $2,747.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 3.09% or 2.15 to hit $71.64 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 1.15% or 2.80 to trade at $245.75 .

USD/BRL was down 1.36% to 5.79, while EUR/BRL rose 1.51% to 6.30.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 103.80.
